Arco di Costantino, Rome

Arco di Constantine, Rome is like a puzzle made up of other monuments. The Arco di Constantino, Rome was built in the 4th century as a tribute to Constantine after the victory over Maxentius. He is regarded as the last among all major monuments built by the Romans. The Arco di Constantino, Rome is located near the Colosseum in the huge square. In summer, "Estate Romana" is celebrated here. Films and videos are projected onto a large screen suspended from the arc. Arco di Constantino, Rome was built with materials of Trajan's Forum.

The Arco di Constantino is 21 m high, 25.7 meters wide and 7.4 m deep. There are three arcades. The lower part of the Arco di Constantino, Rome is constructed of marble. In the inner walls of the central arcades there is a large portrait of Trajan Dacian war. And inside there are eight portraits, two in each wall, completely destroyed. The main inscriptions are written in letters of bronze.

The decoration of the arch marks the victory of Constantine. He praised the value of the emperor in the two wars and his social duties. Many decorative gold represents the time of the empire under Trajan and Hadrian.

The decoration also includes an explanation of the short time (312-315) taken by architects to build the Arco di Constantino, Rome.

It is divided into four Corinthian columns on the order of marble yellow. The victory figures are given in advance and captured on the sides. The main figures are a trophy showing the joy of being victorious. The smallest arc represents river gods. Above the arc side scenes of hunting wild boar and sacrifice to Apollo, hunting a wild boar and sacrifice for Hercules and hunting deer and sacrifice for Diana are carefully framed. These scenes of hunting were part of the article by the Emperor Hadrian.
